As a special keynote speaker, we expect a representative from the Microsoft Excel team at Redmond, USA.

During “Bulgaria Excel Days 2018” 4 masterclasses will be held, led by Ken Puls, Gaspar Kamensek, Tony de Jonker and Oz du Soleil.

The sad reality is that not all data is stored in nicely curated databases and often – even when it is – the data analyst doesn’t have access. Instead we have to piece together data provided in text files, Excel files, web pages and even the body of emails to build the business intelligence solutions we need. Until now this has been a painful process with a great deal of cut and paste effort, and updates have been tedious and error prone. That stops today.

In this course, you’ll learn how Power Query can clean up, reshape and combine your data with ease – no matter where it comes from. Converting ASCII files into tables, combining multiple text files in one shot and even un-pivoting data is not only simple, but an investment in the future refreshable with a single click when next needed.

If you need to learn one skill in Excel today, how to work with Power Query is it. Not only will it change the way you “Get & Transform” data in Excel, but it’s also the system used to collect data for Power BI desktop, meaning these skills are transferable to other programs.

Software Requirements

Power Query is built in to Excel 2016. For Excel 2010 and 2013, you’ll need to ensure that you have the free Power Query add-in installed. *

Pivot tables have always been the key reason why data analysts choose Excel. So in all their awesomeness two key shortages have lingered in the background.

  1. Analyzing data from multiple tables in one Pivot Table (could be done but only if certain conditions were met);
  2. Analyzing datasets with more than 1.000.000 rows (there was OLAP, but that was a sort of “what you see is what you get” deal);

Then in 2009 Power Pivot came around and it was a game changer. All of a sudden the user could create data models with multiple data sources and calculate “time intelligent” calculations and running totals with ease and then include all these calculations in a single(!) pivot table.

So this course is all about Power Pivot and empowering attendees with a workshop style learning process by building a Sales Data Model getting data from multiple sources.

Bulgaria Excel Days 2018

Last year, on the first edition of the of Bulgaria Excel Days, more than 200 business representatives attended the conference, most of whom gave excellent feedback in regard of the quality of the lectures, the usefulness of the presented topics and the level of the organization.

This year Bulgaria Excel Days will also review the latest developments and current trends in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI for Excel and VBA for Excel and their use in the business world.

On the 1st of November, at Rainbow Plaza in Sofia, a big conference will be held, with the participation of lecturers from abroad, all of them being Microsoft Excel or Data Platform MVP’s – as Ken Pulse (Canada), Oz du Soleil (USA) Gasper Kamensek (Slovenia), Charles Williams (UK), Tony de Jonker (The Netherlands), Leila Gharani (Austria) and prominent Bulgarian experts in Microsoft Excel. As a special keynote speaker, we expect a representative from the Microsoft Excel team at Redmond, USA.

On October 31 and November 2, two Mastersclasses, led by Ken Puls, and Gasper Kamensek, will be held.

Rainbow Plaza is a business, show and congress center.

It is the only one of its kind in Bulgaria with amphitheater hall, suitable for organizing events of different types – private and corporate parties, weddings, promotions, balls, seminars, presentations, concerts as well as TV shows. Since the beginning of its existence, it has hosted over 500 different events.

The complex has a rotating and lifting scene – the best scene for the shows, product presentations, reviews, concerts, etc.; multimedia equipment which combines sound, animation, video and other media types; big screen (5m x 4m), two small screens (3m x 2.3m), plasma monitors and static and mobile video cameras; restaurant for 150 persons with a qualitative cuisine and excellent service; outdoor and underground parking, hairdressing salon and office premises and seminar halls.
